The Klingle Valley Trail as we now know it opened in 2017. It’s a walking and biking path used by many that connects Rock Creek Park to the neighborhoods of Cleveland Park, Woodley Park and Mt. Pleasant.
Invasives plants have been growing unchecked since the trail opened and are causing harm to the native plants that DDOT planted and those that naturally exist in the area. As a Conservation Steward with DC’s DOEE (Department of Energy and Environment), I plan to lead volunteers on a regular basis to begin removing the invasive plants to help restore the beauty and biodiversity of this trail.
** If you would like to join this team of volunteers, please fill out the form below and I will add you to the email list for event notifications.
No training is necessary, as I will train and provide tools. Volunteers must dress appropriately for this work, which means closed shoes, long pants and long sleeves regardless of the weather. This is to protect you from ticks, thorns, poison ivy and a variety of other hazards.
